The barrel is set against a black background sprinkled with gold dust, depicting a scene of two white rabbits frolicking amidst the flora; this imagery is complemented by dandelions, a full moon, and gilded motifs of mountains, rocks, and plants. The raised gold lacquer work creates a delicate, three-dimensional texture, making this a collectible fountain pen that harmoniously blends the Chinese symbolism of the auspicious rabbit with the Japanese art of *maki-e* lacquerware.
