Kylin

 This pen features a depiction of the Kylin—a mythical Chinese creature combining elements of the dragon, deer, fish, and horse—rendered using the Maki-e technique. The pen showcases the Togidashi-Hira Maki-e technique, in which materials such as lacquer and charcoal are used to add depth and substance to the main design. The design is then finished using the same techniques employed in Hira Maki-e, resulting in an impression of majestic opulence.
